  : The location is great. In a lovely part of the ‘ghetto’ beside a canal with some lovely bars and coffee shops with tables outside, just perfect. I have seen some descriptions that state is is ‘a few minutes’ from Piazzale Roma. This is not accurate, I’m a fast walker and it took me 15 -20 minutes (I guess that depends on your opinion of a ‘a few’). Having said that the location is close enough to most sights. The property is large and has the promised canal view, nothing quite beats waking up to such a lovely site. The apartment is an old building which has had some modernisation carried out, all in all did our family of 5 perfectly. There are some sighs of wear and tear and some of the furnishings aren’t brilliant. I would recommend the Carrnegio coffee shop pretty much opposite and Al Faro restaurant just inside the Jewish area, Both a short walk away and places we revisited on our break.
  : These points were not an issue for us as they didn’t bother us that much, but not the sort of things you’d necessarily be told by the property renters. 1) there was no kettle as described. We didn’t ask for one and simply used a pan, no drama. 2) you have to take the rubbish out yourself, common enough for the venetian way of life, but when you are paying 80 Euro’s cleaning fee, you’d think they might include that. 3) albeit the boat which collects the rubbish is stones throw away which is convenient, it’s also a stones throw away and noisy. It operates every day from 630 to 830, making an early morning for you if you are a light sleeper. Again wasn’t a big issue for us. 4) the last night and morning of the holiday has a small ant infestation occur. As previously mentioned this is an old building, so a possible problem. We didn’t raise the issue as we were heading home anyway.
